Werner has an extensive track record of being a leader in the Higher Learning Education Sector. He was the Campus Safety & Facilities Manager of Uni NSW ADFA campus during the 2019/20 bushfires and the COV19 crisis. Werner has also held other various senior leadership roles including Engineering Manager and the Director of the Mining, Engineering & Transport Faculty

Werner possess highly refined stakeholder skills. He has been responsible for engaging Defence Industry Partners and has lead the formation of collaborative arrangement between universities. When Werner was Director of Education Programs and Client Services at TAFESA he was responsible for 300 academic and administrative staff.

Werner is a member of the Army Reserve where he holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Australian Infantry Corps. Werner has worked in Chief of Staff and Staff Officer roles.

Werner holds an MBA, Grad.Dip In Mgmt, B.Ed, Diplomas in Quality Management and Project Management, as well as various technical trade certificates.
